Chair of MNS Department Delivers Commencement Address at Hope Medical
Buffalo, New York – June 5, 2013 – Dr. Marion Olivieri, professor and Chair of the Department of Math and Natural Sciences, was one of two feature speakers at the Hope Medical Institute and their affiliated medical universities graduation ceremony in Newport News, Virginia on June 1. The other speaker was U.S. Congresswoman Virginia Foxx of North Carolina.
Hope Medical Institute in an international institute with affiliations and working relationships with schools of medicine throughout the world. These include Polish universities in Silesia, Lublin, Szczecin and Bialystok.
Congresswoman Foxx chairs the House Education & the Workforce Subcommittee on Higher Education. She also serves as Vice Chair of the House Rules Committee.
Awarding degrees were Joanna Lewin-Kowalik, MD, Vice Rector, of the University of Silesia, Andrzej Drop, MD and Wojciech Zaluska, MD, both from the University of Lublin.
D’Youville has agreements with these universities designed to allowing DYC graduates to complete their medical education at either of the Polish University’s English speaking and New York State recognized programs.
